Background
Dulux Velvet Touch has been one of India’s most premium wall décor brands with the proposition of a superior pearl glow finish. Looking at innovative offerings for the discerning consumer, Dulux Velvet Touch was planning to launch an international experience in home décor. The Akzonobel team invited Elephant to create this unique experience through visual identity, icons & packaging for the new Velvet Touch collection.
Challenge
Colours of the World is a collection that relates one to the most coveted places around the world through interesting colours associated with these locations. The collection included colours associated with Paris, London, New York, Mauritius etc.
The redesigned liveries had to relate to the top destinations of the world in an instantly recognizable fashion, enhance the Velvet Touch image to the next level and integrate well with global brand properties.
Solution
Team Elephant decided to use postage stamps as icons to generate the romance of visiting places far & wide. These icons were created using the most recognizable destinations in a fluid manner.
The Velvet Touch identity was also redesigned to give the sub-brand a refresh and bring it up to speed with the new age consumer.
Result
Dulux Velvet Touch: Colours of the world luxury collection was launched in May 2010 and has received phenomenal response.
