A vast country with varied geographical features, climatic conditions, cultures, traditions, religions, customs, dressing styles, tastes, food habits and living habits, diversity is at the heart of the Indian nation. Each of the 28 state of India has a distinct anatomy in terms of language, script, history, culture, heritage, and even festivals. Add to the diversity that has been inherited, is the diversity that is being created by the divide in economic conditions, literacy, and polarization between urban India, due to its exposure to the world and rural India, due to the lack of it. The 'Indian marketplace' consists of metros, big cities, small cities, large towns, small towns and villages. To be able to holistically capture this market takes a deep understanding of the ethos and mindset of the people. This requires experts who not only know their subject but have lived, experienced, and practiced the varied traditions.
Elephant Design based in the western part of India constitutes 65 people from 28 Indian states, speaking 15 languages, proficient in 15 scripts, practicing 7 religions, who have visited 500 towns across states, graduated from 20 universities, worked on projects that are implemented across Indian states, cities and towns. Our people have traveled extensively to USA, Europe, Middle East and South East Asia and understood business practices and customs in these places as well. We also have people of different nationalities working with us from time to time and help us to increase our awareness of their customs and practices. With our rich understanding of India and the world around, our research, innovation, strategy and design capabilities can help, Indian companies looking to expand their customer base and MNCs with no experience in India, to launch products and brands that are widely accepted and that redefine emerging markets.
