Anand Belhe

Design Director, Furniture & Building Product System

With over 30 years of professional experience, Anand Belhe is a prolific Industrial Designer with specialized knowledge of the manufacturing sector. He was mentored by and worked with big names like Gajanan Upadhyaya and Gerd Lange as a NID student in the 80s. After receiving the ‘Outstanding Scholastic Success’ reward in 1987, he continued his studies at the prestigious School of Applied Arts, Vienna, under architects Wilhelm Holzbauer and Hans Hollein.

Anand started his own company - Flexform Postforming (India) Pvt Ltd - in 1993. In 2010, he incorporated Bele-Drain Systems Pvt. Ltd. exporting linear drain systems across Europe, and launched its operations pan-India. Anand holds three Indian patents and two international patents related to this field.

His vast experience involves working with industry giants like Citibank, the TATA Group, Airtel, Sony, and Jindal Stainless. He also has numerous accolades to his name, like the Best Commercial Interior Award from IIID and the Best Design for the museum of the Sadhu Vaswani mission. Anand’s commitment to his field additionally manifests in the form of his academic engagements.

He has been a visiting faculty at NID and the MIT School of Design Pune (amongst others) and the Dean of the Faculty of Design for five years at CEPT University, Ahmedabad.

As he continues his professional practice, he has also been appointed as the Dean of MIT Institute of Design and MIT School of Architecture.
